The Alliance Marketing Board of Directors has named executives to new roles within the company.
“We would like to thank you each for your focus on our core mission during this season of change in our company,” the board shared in a statement. “Each of our businesses are highly successful and we’ve continued to innovate and provide best in class solutions for marketing services through A2, technology solutions through ADM and I-Pro, and the best cost of goods in our peer group for independent supermarkets with ARG.
“Alliance concluded 2022 with two record periods and the highest payout in company history at $310 million. The board would like to express its confidence in the team they have put in place to lead us into a future full of growth and service to independent grocers.”
The board welcomes the following leaders into their new roles:
Barry Maddox has been named CMO of Alliance Retail Group. Maddox has 40 years’ experience with independent grocery, including merchandising responsibilities at wholesale and retail. His most recent experience includes 19 years with Alliance Retail Group as SVP. He joined the company after the merger of Nashville-based Mid-South Retail and Memphis-based Performance Marketing in January 2004. Maddox’s new role will include supporting the ARG negotiating team and leveraging its data analytics’ tool I-Pro Edge.
Heidi Huff was named SVP of consumer engagement at A2 Advertising. Huff comes to A2 Advertising after a 15-year career at IGA. She joined IGA in 2008 as marketing manager and has since served as director of marketing, senior director of Red Oval Partnerships and VP of business partnerships, where she was responsible for creating strategic relationships between consumer product manufacturer brands, technology and service companies and IGA corporate.
Huff is an eight-year member of the WGA Executive Board of Directors, serving as VP and treasurer, and is a member of the NGA Foundation Board of Regents. She has held several marketing, sales and brand management positions throughout her career with Corner Bakery Cafe and Building Leaders.
Megan Cappel has been named as VP of data and analytics at iPro Systems. Cappel has 16 years of experience in the independent grocery industry. In her most recent role as director of data and analytics, she steered the development of and launched the reporting and analytics platform, iPro Edge. In her new role, she will continue to grow the platform and its capabilities, as well as expand her influence and management of other information technology services and tools that serve the independent community.
