WestPack 2023 has announced a new plan to provide solutions and innovations targeted to the medical device, food and beverage and cannabis industries. Attendees can expect to find the latest packaging equipment, supplies and materials, while learning from industry leaders and other design and packaging engineers at the event.
New for 2023, WestPack will feature “The Pack Place,” sponsored by Packaging Digest, a new theater on the show floor filled with the latest topics for the industry. The agenda is focused on the three main industries, with medical device and healthcare topics on Feb. 7, the CannPack Cannabis Packaging Conference on Feb. 8, and food and beverage packaging topics on Feb. 9. Presentations include subjects on sustainability in packaging, sterile packaging, child resistant packaging for the cannabis industry and regulations.
The Pack Place also is where attendees and exhibitors can connect at the end of the day on Feb. 7-8 for the Pack networking receptions. Taking place from 4-5 p.m., attendees will be able to meet with industry peers to catch up and discuss the topics presented during the day.
“WestPack 2023 will offer more to attendees than ever before,” said Adrienne Zepeda, group event director. “The packaging industry is experiencing unique challenges around sustainability, materials and automation. WestPack is the place where design and packaging engineers can find the technical information and advice they need to move their businesses forward.”
Sustainability continues to be a leading trend within the packaging industry with 60 percent of global consumers and 61 percent of U.S. consumers using sustainable packaging as a purchasing criterion. Overall, the global sustainability market is expected to reach $470.3 billion by 2027 with the food and beverage industry leading the charge.
Helping drive the content agenda to break down these industry trends are the industry partners who are supporting WestPack 2023. These include the Flexible Packaging Association, Sustainable Packaging Coalition, Kilmer Innovations in Packaging, National Cannabis Industry Association, the Institute of Packaging Professionals and the Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee of IoPP.
