Springfield, Massachusetts-based Big Y will hold its second annual “Big Vax Week” from Sept. 26-Oct. 1 featuring an on-site multi vaccine clinic for all employees and the local community.
All stores will offer seasonal flu, high dose flu and COVID-19 vaccines including the updated COVID-19 booster.
Stores with an on-site pharmacy also offer a variety of additional vaccines, including Pneumococccal, Shingrix, Tdap, Hepatitis A and B, Meningococcal, MMR and Guardasil. Vaccines are administered to eligible adults and children ages 5 and older based upon product availability.

This second community wide event spans every Big Y’s location in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Patients who receive a seasonal flu or COVID-19 vaccine at any one of the clinics or pharmacy locations will receive a Big Y Coupon for $5 off of a $25 grocery purchase. Each location will have other giveaways as well.
Over the past year, Big Y’s vaccination program administered 100,000 doses of various vaccines. For those who might be interested, CDC guidance states that it is acceptable to receive two or more of these different vaccines at the same time.
In addition to an array of prescriptions, consultation and pharmacy services, Big Y’s pharmacy team has been administering vaccines for many years. They’ve held clinics at schools, senior centers, manufacturing facilities, business offices and have worked with many city and state departments of public health. Last year in Massachusetts, Big Y was chosen to be the vaccination providers for schools in Springfield, schools and clinics for the town of East Longmeadow, as well as Wilbraham and Hampden.
