Oxford, North Carolina-based Bailey Farms highlighted their product varieties and discussed its recent expansions on March 3-5 at Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure. The company put emphasis on its sweet BellaFina peppers and Hotties line at the produce expo.
The company’s BellaFina pepper variety is one third the size of a full-size bell pepper. The company says the pepper’s petite size offers versatility for recipes and is ideal for the price-conscious consumer.
The company also discussed its Hotties line, consisting of 10 high-flavor varieties, available year-round. Bailey Farms’ Jalapenos have risen to the top of the category in recent years, which can be correlated to the rising global-influenced culinary trends with consumers.
“With our increased production and expanded facility in Florida, we are able to better serve our customers and provide a fresher product for the end consumer,” said Randy Bailey, president of Bailey Farms.
Sustainability and food safety was top of mind with the company’s new Estero, Florida farm. As a result, the entire production has been converted to modern computerized irrigation and automation systems, saving significant amounts of water and fuel.
Since 1989, Bailey Farms Inc. has been growing peppers. Beginning as a father and son duo, Bailey Farms has family-run farms in North Carolina and Florida that offer a wide variety of chile, BellaFina and mini-sweet peppers.
