In partnership with vendors and community partners, Northgate González Market delivered nearly 50,000 toys to children throughout Southern California on Dec. 16.
Now in its 26th year, the Anaheim, California-based retailer works closely with its vendor partners and the community to put on the annual toy giveaway. The drive-thru events happened at 30 locations, including many of its Latino-themed grocery chain stores, local parks and community centers. Some of the sites included Santa Ana College, Beehive and El Rancho High School.

“It fills our heart to see the joy of Christmas shared with children and their families every year at our annual toy drives. These are our loyal customers, many who now are hurting to make ends meet,” said Northgate Market Co-President Miguel González. “We want to thank our generous vendor partners like Coca-Cola, 7-Up and Dr Pepper for helping us make it all happen.”
At many toy distribution sites, local elected officials, community leaders and members of various chambers of commerce pitched in to help give the toys.
“Due to the pandemic and other factors, many in our community find it difficult to make ends meet this Christmas season,” said Los Angeles City Council Member Curren Price in South LA. “The gift Northgate Market gives to these children goes beyond the toys. They are touching their hearts and lift their spirits. We are proud to be part of the celebration.”
