This holiday season, Central Market/H-E-B is taking its mobile kitchens on the road for the company’s annual Feast of Sharing celebrations in lieu of in-person dinners. Central Market/H-E-B will be at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, on Dec. 10 to distribute dinners and holiday cheer to those in need.
The event will be held at Fair Park, Lot 15, 2100 S. Haskell Ave. in Dallas.
Volunteers will be on-site to hand out warm meals and additional products while supplies last.
During November and December, H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing will donate more than 340,000 meals to 18 Texas food banks and provide monetary gifts to more than 45 hunger relief organizations in the state.
This would have been the 14th annual in-person Feast of Sharing event in Dallas this year. The event typically serves more than 10,000 Dallas residents a traditional Thanksgiving-style meal paired alongside a festive holiday celebration.
Although this year’s Central Market/H-E-B Feast of Sharing will not include the traditional in-person dinner events and volunteer opportunities, H-E-B – with the help from its mobile kitchens – will partner with Texas food banks.
To support Texans across the state, these organizations will provide meals prepared by the H-E-B Mobile Kitchens, holiday gifts and H-E-B Meal Simple dinners, which will include roasted turkey, green beans and mashed potatoes with garlic butter.
“For more than three decades, the H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a joyous celebration we look forward to each and every year, a festive occasion where we can enjoy the holidays with our neighbors,” said Mabrie Jackson, director of public affairs for H-E-B/Central Market. “While we’re not able to celebrate in person this year, thanks to our dedicated nonprofit partners, we’re still able to touch the lives of so many across our great state and celebrate together in spirit.”
In-person Central Market and H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners are scheduled to resume next year, during the 2022 holiday season.
Since 1989, Central Market’s parent company, H-E-B, has invited people to celebrate the holidays with food, music and good cheer at its Feast of Sharing events. The free holiday feasts, which are held in more than 34 cities in Texas and Mexico, bring together family, friends and neighbors, and provides H-E-B an opportunity to give thanks to its loyal customers, regularly serving more than 250,000 meals.
