Grocery retailer Stop & Shop and discount retailer Ocean State Job Lot are celebrating newly opened facilities within the RK Weymouth Shopping Center and the significant investment the companies have made in the Weymouth, Massachusetts, community. To commemorate this effort, Weymouth Mayor Bob Hedlund conducted the recent ribbon cutting.
Stop & Shop officials said they are proud to have opened a new home delivery fulfillment center that will offer more fresh, healthy food options that help make grocery shopping easier for local customers. The 37,000-square-foot facility is creating 300 permanent jobs, focused on processing and delivering online orders. Full- and part-time positions for personal shoppers and home delivery drivers are still available.
In April, Ocean State Job Lot opened a 40,000-square-foot store within the RK Weymouth Shopping Center, which had been vacant. Nearly 50 full- and part-time associates have been hired for the store.
Shoppers throughout New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania know Ocean State Job Lot for its Crazy Deals, Insider Club, low prices, friendly customer service and wide range of merchandise.
To further support the local Weymouth community, Stop & Shop has made a donation of $2,500 in gift cards to support Weymouth Public Schools’ food assistance programs for students and their families, and OSJL donated thousands of pieces of personal protective equipment to the Weymouth police and fire departments as part of its ongoing support of those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
