The FMI Foundation will announce the 2020 Gold Plate Awards recipients during the first Supper Bowl championship and online networking event on Jan. 26, from 12:15-1:15 pm EST. The awards presentation will be held in conjunction with the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference. Participants of the event also will determine the winner of the Supper Bowl competition.
The FMI Foundation Gold Plate Awards highlight outstanding programs implemented by the food industry that help families stay strong with family meals. The Supper Bowl, a fundraising program supporting the FMI Foundation, celebrates the growth of the Family Meals Movement and involves retailers and suppliers competing for the title of “Best Family Meal.”
Family meals are proven to help boost fruit and vegetable consumption and connectiveness, which support overall public health. The Gold Plate Awards recognize the ever-important work the food industry is doing to encourage families to stay strong with family meals.
Established in 1996, the FMI Foundation seeks to ensure continued quality and efficiency in the food retailing system and is operated for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. To help support the role of food retailing, the FMI Foundation focuses on research, education and resources in the area of health and well-being, which includes food safety, nutrition and social responsibility considerations.
