Iselin, New Jersey-based Allegiance Retail Services (ARS) has opened its two newest stores in Brooklyn, New York, and has re-opened two existing Foodtown stores in the New York/New Jersey area. Two Gristedes supermarkets in Manhattan also recently celebrated their grand re-openings.
The Park Slope Foodtown, located at 409 5th Ave., celebrated its grand opening on Oct. 23, and is owned and operated by Shady Widdi. A second store in Brooklyn, located at 781 Metropolitan Ave., is owned and operated by Fouad Elayyan. Known as the Brooklyn Harvest store, its grand opening was on Nov. 6. Both stores offer a large selection of prepared foods, deli specials, quality produce, fresh meat and local favorites to meet the needs of today’s customers.
In addition to the two new stores opening, ARS has re-opened two existing stores in the New York/ New Jersey area. Included are the grand re-opening of two Foodtown stores: one located in Wayne, New Jersey, owned by Jack Shakoor, and the second situated in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, also owned by Elayyan. The stores have been fully remodeled and offer expanded variety, enhanced services and new and on trend products.
“It is exciting for us to welcome the opening of two new stores allowing us to expand the communities we serve and to celebrate the remodels of existing stores which offer enhanced services to current customers. We would like to congratulate all three Allegiance Members for their new and ongoing commitment to the communities they serve,” said John T. Derderian, president and COO of ARS.
The other two stores that re-opened are operated by the New York Food Group (John Catsimatidis, chairman, and Nick D’Agostino III, president) and are located in Manhattan.
