The management of Big Y Foods Inc., based in Springfield, Massachusetts, has announced several new appointments throughout the company.

Nunes, deli buyer/coordinator, store support center in Springfield, Massachusetts; from Farmington, Connecticut, Amanda Bryda, center store sales coordinator, store support center in Springfield, Massachusetts; from Guilford, Connecticut, David J. Argento, senior manager of pharmacy operations, store support center in Springfield, Massachusetts; and from Vernon, Connecticut, Sarah A. Provencher, pharmacy manager, Big Y World Class Market in Tolland, Connecticut.

Big Y Foods Inc. is one of the largest independently owned supermarket chains in New England. Founded in 1936 by brothers Paul and Gerald D’Amour, the store was named after an intersection in Chicopee, Massachusetts where two roads converge to form a “Y.”
