As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the lives of people around the world, grocers across the United States are providing information to keep their customers informed and some are changing their operating hours.
In the Southeast, Sedano’s Supermarkets and Publix are making changes in store hours in an effort to help keep Covid-19 from affecting customers.
For more than 58 years, Sedano’s Supermarkets says it has prided itself on understanding and delivering the grocery needs of its local Florida communities.
“In these challenging times, we want to assure our customers and our associates that we are committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment,” the company says.
To aid the members of the communities Sedano’s serve that are more vulnerable than others, effective Thursday, March 19, the 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. hour will be dedicated to seniors aged 65 and older, and those who are immunocompromised.
“We ask our customers to be patient, kind and respect that this hour will be prioritized to serve these individuals,” the company says. “We will continue monitoring this situation and adjusting operations and policies as required.”
Publix adjusts store hours in response to Covid-19
Publix Super Markets says its associates are working around the clock to best serve the evolving needs of its communities. Publix has adjusted its store hours to provide its teams additional time to conduct preventive sanitation and to restock our shelves.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18, Publix Super Markets will temporarily adjust daily store hours companywide to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In addition, in-store pharmacy hours also will change to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday and normal pharmacy hours on Sunday.
