Hiland Dairy has added seven new 5-oz. packages of cottage cheese, offering consumers on-the-go options. Available in Zesty Fiesta, Garden Veggie, Peach, Strawberry, and Pineapple—each one has 12-14g of protein. There are also two options for plain cottage cheese: small curd with 4 percent and 2 percent low fat.
The 5-oz. packages began appearing on retailers’ shelves in December. The suggested retail price is $1.29-1.39 each.
“Consumers continue to request high-protein products that are convenient for their busy lifestyle,” said Rick Beaman, VP of Hiland Dairy Foods Co. “We believe that our five-ounce cottage cheese provides the perfect ‘on-the-go’ option for anyone wanting to add more protein to their diet.”
The company says while protein makes up approximately 69 percent of its total calorie count, it is also a good source of other important nutrients, including calcium, phosphorus, selenium, vitamin B12 and riboflavin.
