Each year, Rutter’s, a privately held chain of convenience stores headquartered in Central Pennsylvania, holds a Secret Santa program, choosing employees to reward based on their excellent performance with $1,000 to donate to the charity of their choice. In 2019, Rutter’s Children’s Charities will be donating $50,000, giving 50 employees from Rutter’s stores and corporate office a chance to help out their communities.
“Our goal with the Secret Santa Program has been to give our employees a chance to give back to their community during the holiday season,” said Scott Hartman, Rutter’s CEO. “Donating to local programs and charities is always top of mind for us. This program is our way of supporting causes that our employees feel connected to, in the area.”
The Secret Santa program began in 2016 as a way for Rutter’s to continue their charitable giving through the holiday season. Giving back to the communities in which Rutter’s operates is an important part of their charitable mission. Since its 2016 inception, the Secret Santa program has grown every year, and it has donated more than $130,000 to various local charities.
Rutter’s operates 77 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
