San Bernardino, California-based Stater Bros. Markets, in conjunction with its charitable arm, Stater Bros. Charities, is kicking off its annual “Harvesting Hope” holiday campaign to give customers and employees a chance to further local hunger relief efforts.
Throughout November and December, all checkout lanes across the entire company will sell $5 “Bag of Hope” donation cards and display holiday canisters to collect cash and coin donations. All funds collected in November and December through these efforts will provide fresh and healthy food and funding to local food banks and food pantries in the areas the company serves.
“Stater Bros. has always believed in not just doing business in the community but being part of the community,” said Pete Van Helden, CEO of Stater Bros. Markets. “Through the support of our valued customers, generous vendor partners and loyal members of the Stater Bros. ‘Family,’ over $1.3 million has been donated to support hunger relief programs benefitting our friends, neighbors and families in need,” Van Helden added.
Stater Bros.’ Annual “Harvesting Hope” holiday campaign is currently in progress and concludes on Dec. 31.
