On Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m., Ingles Markets, along with partners ABCCM, WLOS-TV and iHeartRadio, will present the total amount of food and funds raised during the Ingles’ Kids Pantry one-day food drive held on Oct. 9.
The drive, held at the Ingles Market on Tunnel Road in Asheville, North Carolina, consisted of 60 volunteers who sorted and bagged more than 450 meals for students of Buncombe County. All monetary donations raised were spent on additional food to fill 10-lb. bags that volunteers from ABCCM distributed to several schools throughout Buncombe County.
“Ingles remains committed to helping local students when they are not in school. Maintaining strong partnerships with WLOS-TV, iHeartRadio and ABCCM, Ingles remains dedicated to battling food insecurity in our communities” said Melissa Leavell, director of advertising for Ingles Markets.
“ABCCM and our affiliated churches want to thank all of those who donated to the Ingles’ Kids Pantry. We are honored to partner with Ingles, WLOS-TV and iHeartRadio to ensure that over 800 homeless children and many other students receive nutritious meals when they’re not in school” said Rev. Scott Rogers, ABCCM executive director.
