Key Food Stores Co-Operative Inc. has reopened its SuperFresh banner store at 242 Bay Ridge Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
The store now features a full-service halal meat and deli department with custom cuts available, as well as a large selection of Middle Eastern groceries.
The store also now has an expanded offering of vegan, gluten-free, organic and specialty items across multiple departments. SuperFresh accepts phone orders and offers free parking, free delivery and online shopping via Instacart.
New York State Sen. Andrew Gounardes and Key Food executives including CEO Dean Janeway, COO George Knobloch, CFO Sharon Konzelman, CIO Tammy Teague and VP of Business Development John Durante were in attendance at the grand opening ceremonies Oct. 18.
“Store owners Sam and Randy Abed have done a spectacular job with this store,” Durante said. “We’re proud to see them bringing the first SuperFresh to Brooklyn with this location and are so excited for customers to enjoy the store as well.”
Nearly doubled in size, the SuperFresh now is the largest supermarket in Bay Ridge, according to Key Food Stores. The fully expanded produce department offers both local and organic options. Customers can enjoy freshly squeezed juices and smoothies at the juice bar, as well as free Wi-Fi in the Illy café. The in-store bakery offers cookies, pastries, and custom cakes freshly baked on-site. A gourmet deli will feature a hot food bar, salad bar, olive bar, cheeses from around the world and many grab-and-go options, in addition to catering services.
“We’ve worked so hard on expanding and renovating this store to ensure that everything is brand new from top to bottom,” said Sam Abed. “The SuperFresh motto is ‘better store, better living’, and that’s something we really strived to establish here. Our customers are the best, so it was important for us to give them the best in return.”
