TGCSA, re-focus

At their annual meetings on May 9, the members of the Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association (TGCSA) and the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation (TGEF) elected new members to the groups’ Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.

New members of the TGCSA Board of Directors are Mickey Blazer, K-VA-T/Food City; Kent Gonzalez, Pepsi Beverage Co.; Jim Phiropoulos, Cooke’s Food Stores; and Greg Rush, Houchens Industries.

New TGEF Board of Trustees members are Cacy Martin, Purity Dairies; Shane Means, S&C Foods; Darryl Miller, Associated Wholesale Grocers; Ryan Reese, Reese Group; and Dustin Richardson, Frito-Lay.

Nashville-based TGCSA is the only trade association that represents all segments of Tennessee’s food industry. Membership is comprised of retail grocery store and convenience store operations, as well as food industry wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers. TGCSA has served the needs of its members since 1978. The industry represents more than 200,000 Tennessee jobs.

Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation (TGEF) was founded in 1985 for the purpose of providing scholarships and promoting education throughout the food industry in Tennessee.
