Three brands from Cargill Meat Solutions are planning to release new turkey-based protein products this fall.
Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms plan to introduce turkey dippers, a high-protein, low-carb snack. Turkey Dippers are designed to be eaten on-the-go. Each Turkey Dippers kit has at least 16g of protein, powered by turkey that is raised by independent family farmers without growth-promoting antibiotics or added hormones or steroids.
Castle Wood Reserve is introducing a line of protein snacks in four flavor combinations. Each package contains rolled deli meat with cheese and premium side, such as dark chocolate dried cherries, yogurt-covered granola clusters or a blend of dried cranberries and blueberries.
The top two reasons consumers purchase refrigerated adult snacks are convenience and high protein content, according to 2018 data from Nielsen. Premium snacks have turned into a popular choice as 46 percent of shoppers are interested in high protein snacks, and consumers are eating an average of four to five snacks per day.
