C&S Wholesale Grocers completed its previously announced acquisition of The Grocers Supply Co., a leading grocery wholesaler and retailer based in Houston, Texas, on Dec. 29. C&S is based in Keene, New Hampshire.

“As we build on the firm foundation of the C&S legacy, part of our strategic focus is expanding and developing powerful growth platforms,” said VPs Don Dyess and Kevin Broussard in a letter from C&S to industry partners regarding the completion of the acquisition. “We have always had independent businesses, which we serve with the same excellence and focus we give to our large chain customers. The acquisition of Grocers Supply builds on the strength of our independent business, and expands our geography into a new region.”

The Grocers Supply Co. warehouses in Houston that C&S has acquired include:

• Dry: 3131 East Holcombe Boulevard;

• Refrigerated/Frozen: 3100 East Holcombe Boulevard;

• GM/HBC: 3110 Corder Street;

• Produce: 3010 Hicks Street and 3000 Hicks Street; and

• Meat: 621 Waverly Street.

Dyess handles procurement for grocery, GM and HBC; Broussard is responsible for sales and procurement for the fresh departments for these Grocers Supply warehouses.

The acquisition did not include any of Grocers Supply’s retail operations.
