Potatoes are a no-fuss veggie: packed with nutrition and easy to prepare in advance or on the spot. The Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) is looking for your favorite easy-to-make Wisconsin potato camping recipes; recipes that can be prepared in advance or at the campground. Hot or cold dish, it doesn’t matter. WPVGA is looking for creative camping recipes that give consumers more time to enjoy the great outdoors.
The Campfire Champ will receive a 10×10 Guide Series Combo Canopy. The second place winner will win a Gander Mountain Zero Gravity Deluxe XL Lounger. The third place prize is a Grand Trunk Single Parachute Nylon Travel Hammock.
Shoppers also can win just by voting for a favorite recipe on the Wisconsin Potato Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/EatWisconsinPotatoes). Voting takes place May 19-June 2. One randomly drawn Gather-Around-the-Campfire Wisconsin Potato Recipe Contest voter will win a $150 gift card to his or her favorite grocery store.
Deadline for recipe submission is May 18.
