The convenience store chain The Pantry Inc. announced plans today to spend $3.2 million to revamp its Birmingham and Tuscaloosa Kangaroo Express stores.
As part of its “Fresh Initiative,” the Cary, N.C.-based chain will begin serving new Bean Street Coffee and offering additional food and beverage options at its 36 stores in the two cities, according to the company.
The Birmingham and Tuscaloosa initiative is the second for the company, which has already upgraded its Raleigh, N.C., stores.
As of Aug. 8, The Pantry Inc. operated 1,655 stores in 13 states.
