Knowlan’s Super Markets Shares Leadership Promotions

Knowlan’s Super Markets

Knowlan’s Super Markets, which operates Festival Foods of Minnesota and Knowlan’s Fresh Foods, has shared several promotions within the leadership team.

“This news is shared today with excitement and anticipation for the future of our company,” said Lauri Youngquist, CEO of Knowlan’s Super Markets Inc.

“Our company started in 1905, and today holds an important place in our community and our industry as a family-owned, family-operated and woman-owned business. Together in 2024, we celebrate that we have been a woman-owned business for 35 years.”

Jason Herfel

Joining the team in 2002, Herfel has worked with many different departments and across the company including bakery, deli, meat, produce, floral, seafood, facilities, maintenance and marketing. He has been named president of Knowlan’s Super Markets Inc.

Ed Doud

Joining the team part time in 1983 and went full time in 1995, Doud has worked through many positions in the company including produce manager and most recently as director of IT. Doud will assume the responsibility of VP of technology, data and e-commerce.

Chris Thienes

Joining the team in 2000, Thienes has been the leader in human resources that covers a broad area of responsibility. He has the unique opportunity of being connected with all the company’s employees in a critical role. Thienes will take on additional responsibilities and assume the new title of VP of human resources and risk management.

Youngquist added, “We are fortunate to work with a remarkable team, and we thank you all for your years of service to our customers and contributions to our company. Our whole team joins me in congratulating Ed, Chris and Jason on their promotions.”
